Class Action

In cases when the negligence of another party physically or financially injures more than one individual, the injured parties may consider legal action by filing a class action lawsuit. There are detailed rules regarding whether a particular group of Plaintiffs constitutes a class for the purposes of a class action lawsuit. Examples of class actions include consumer fraud, defective products, and misleading advertising are examples of class actions with manufacturers, retailers, financial institutions, and employers as the defendants. Class action complaints, a legal document describing the facts, are filed to the court by the class representative, lead plaintiff, or the named plaintiff.
